Do you have an item or collection in your care or ownership which is in need of professional attention? Do you want to know more about how to look after it? Do you need advice on care, packing or the conditions in which items are kept or displayed?

Please contact Joanne Barry, by phone or e-mail with any questions you may have regarding your work of art:

Joanne Barry, Paintings Conservator M.S.

Initial consultations over the phone are free of charge. Advice is given for care and handling of delicate and or damaged artwork. Injuries to paintings often occur during transport, handling, or even removing them from the wall. It is best not to expose a painting to unnecessary movement. Please ask a conservator for the best course of action before moving a painting.

Proposals and cost estimates for treatment can only be given after a full examination of the artwork has been conducted.

To answer general questions concerning your collection, see the AIC's website.

The monetary value of an artwork can be established with the assistance of a Fine Art Appraiser. Find one here.

Always inquire about the credentials of a conservator. Ask for training history, experience and methods of documentation. Be discerning. Your artwork is worth it.
